Acupuncture for Pediatric Anxiety

Acupuncture is a safe and effective treatment for general anxiety and has long been used to help treat pediatric conditions due to its high safety profile. In a recent randomized pilot study, researchers assessed twenty participants (ages 8-16) and concluded that acupuncture treatment can help children and adolescents manage their general anxiety. Another randomized control study showed that children and adolescents experienced reduced general anxiety when treated with acupressure, which is a method of applying pressure or localized massage to specific points of the body.
