Hot flashes are a common symptom. Acupuncture is an effective therapy for treating hot flashes for postmenopausal women as well as cancer patients and survivors. Randomized controlled trials have shown a reduction in the number of hot flashes that participants experienced within several weeks of treatment. The majority of studies report more than 50% reduction of hot flashes in breast cancer patients after a course of acupuncture treatments.
In more studies:
Acupuncture reduced hot flashes and night sweats significantly
Acupuncture reduced hot flashes, day and night sweats, general sweating, sleep problems related to hot flashes, and emotional symptoms
Benefits from acupuncture lasted for over six months
