Whether you are coming in for your first acupuncture appointment, or your hundredth, reviewing these tips for how to prepare can go a long way in optimizing your treatment and ensuring a comfortable experience.
Before Your Appointment:
Upon arrival, check in at the front desk. Remember to wear a mask throughout your visit and silence your phone.
We recommend using the restroom before going into your treatment room.
Please avoid wearing fragranced products such as perfumes, colognes, or heavily scented lotions.
Wearing loose and comfortable clothes that do not restrict blood flow is pertinent. Loose tank tops, t-shirts, shorts, or skirts are recommended. You may bring a change of clothing with you.
Please wear minimal jewelry. We recommend removing large earrings as the provider may treat these areas.
Avoid consuming heavy meals and caffeine a minimum of 2 hours before treatment to ensure a comfortable experience.
If you are feeling hungry or dehydrated prior to your appointment, you may have a light meal or snack along with warm water 2 hours before your treatment.
During Your Treatment:
Change your clothing if needed and make yourself comfortable on the treatment bed while you wait for the doctor.
Feel free to enjoy our music or you are welcome to listen to your own. Please play it from your phone’s speaker, not earphones.
There is a sanitized call button for your convenience. If you feel uncomfortable or need assistance during your treatment, press the button and someone will come right away.
After Your Treatment:
We encourage you to drink at least 12 ounces of water or herbal teas heated to 100°F or higher, within the hour after your appointment so your body functions as best it can, and so that you’re well hydrated.
